Senior Studio 1 Final Project

"Threads of Memory" is a poignant homage to the impermanence of recollection. Ghostly replicas of my deceased grandmother’s furniture are suspended from the ceiling, rendered with thin PVC sheets and glue. Without photographs to guide the arrangement, I relied solely on fleeting impressions from childhood, drawn from brief annual visits. This work balances precision and evanescence, transforming transparency into a metaphor for the fragility of memory. Like the fading recollections that inspired it, Threads of Memory captures the tension between holding on and letting go, inviting viewers to experience the beauty and ache of remembrance. I drew some inspiration from artist Do Ho Suh, whose work also explores memory and the idea of home through transparent materials.
